Rick Hammell founds Elements Global Services to revolutionize the way that international companies manage their talent. In doing so, he coins the term “Employer of Record” for the burgeoning industry and introduces the world’s first 100% direct Employer of Record model.
Elements rapidly expands its EOR and payroll services to 80 countries. It also officially launches its first international offices in the UK and India.
With an international workforce of 75 people, operations in 100 countries, and new offices opened in Bercelona, South Africa, and China, Elements launches ApprovPay — a cloud-based platform to efficiently and compliantly manage international HR and payroll.
Elements completes a $20 million Series A capital raise with Guidepost Growth Equity to support its global expansion and technological investments. The company surpasses 100 international employees and operations across 135 countries, while moving its HQ to Chicago.
Providing the perfect business solution to the global challenge of COVID-19, Elements experiences rapid growth and balloons to over 250 employees and more than 150 countries served globally.
After completing a $200 million Series B capital raise with Sixth Street Global, Elements rebrands to Atlas in conjunction with the launch of it Human Experience Management (HXM) platform — simplifying global people operations with unified software and a ‘Glocal’ model. Atlas is also named as a ‘Leader’ in Global Employer of Record Services by NelsonHall and Everest Group.
Atlas continues to revolutionize the way the world works. With almost 500 global employees and entities in more than 160 countries, Atlas helps its clients to build a reputation that attracts the world’s top talent. New improvements to the HXM platform in 2023 include the launch of expense management, a mobile app and a partnership with Coursera to improve employee experience. The company has also launched its impact ESG program and was named as a ‘Leader’ in IEC’s 2023 EOR industry report.
